What are some of the common conceptions you have or have heard about self-compassion?
How valid do you think they are?
Here are a few to get us started. Add your own points or comment on mine.
You need to "earn" your own love.
Self-compassion is just another way to feel good about slacking off / Self-compassion = Self-indulgence
Self-compassion is self-pity.

I think these notions get perpetuated because as evolutionary beings we have learnt to mimic quite well. The best way to break the cycle is through understanding our self better, but to do it as a society in unison? 🤔
Your point on vantage point and hence jaded is definitely a great point. Can definitely add from my experiences that older settled people do not like too much change in their lives, even if the change is for their advantage. While on the other hand younger people spend a lot of time and energy to not become their parents but OMG the irony, LOL... It is Irony right? 😀
