A mental health program for Indian youth using Self-compassion

This research project is about building a community mental health program for college and university students in India. It involves discovering innovative and enduring ways to incorporate self-kindness and emotional awareness into a habit for young adults. The study aims to develop a self-compassion toolkit that appeals to young people, helps to improve their relationship with themselves and consequently their positive emotions as well as act as a protective factor against stress, anxiety and depression.

6 week Mental health program using Self-compassion
(For 2nd & 3rd year UG students in Pune)

This is a form to show your interest in participating in a 6 week, on-campus mental health program for colleges and university students in Pune, Maharashtra.

Topic: Using self-compassion (healthy relationship with oneself) to cope with challenges including academic pressure, anxiety, adjustment issues, loneliness, relationship concerns.

 

Program details:

  • 7 sessions over 6 weeks

  • Session duration: 1 hour every week

  • Starting: Mid-July, 2025

  • Venue: On your college campus

  • Time: During college hours

  • Open to: 30 students

  • Languages: English, Hindi

As part of a doctoral study, we are looking for current 2nd and 3rd year UG students from any discipline: Humanities, Science or Commerce of Pune colleges

Trial: Mental Health Program Online crash course  
(For 2nd & 3rd year Undergraduate students)

Ongoing: 25th June 2025-4th July 2025

Mode: Online

This is a 2 hour, online, mental health program crash course for colleges and university students in Pune, Maharashtra. 

 

Topic: Using self-compassion (healthy relationship with oneself) to cope with challenges including academic pressure, anxiety, adjustment issues, loneliness, relationship concerns.

  • Mode: Online (Zoom) 

  • Session duration: 2 hours 

  • Date: Friday, 4th July, 2025

  • Timings: 6:15 - 8:15 pm IST

  • Language: English, Hindi

  • This trial is open to 8 to 12 students.

  • Please note: The trial session will be recorded for research purposes.

This is a form to express interest in participating in a 1-hour focus group discussion regarding students' mental health in India being. These will be conducted in Oct-Nov, 2024.
